Kompetensi Profesional Guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen di SMP Kristen Lemoh

This study aims to determine and describe the professional competence of Christian Religious Education (PAK) teachers, supporting and inhibiting factors as well as the efforts of PAK teachers to improve professional competence in Lemoh Christian Junior High School. The method used in this study was a qualitative phenomenological method with data collection techniques through observation at SMP Kristen Lemoh, then interviews with the principal, two teachers who taught PAK and six students. Data is also collected through documentation.
Based on the results of the study, it shows that teachers who give PAK at Lemoh Christian Junior High School are: (1) lack professional competence. Because: first, lack of mastery of the material, structure, concepts and scientific mindset of PAK subjects. Second, lack of mastery of competency standards and basic competencies of PAK subjects. Third, it is lacking in terms of developing PAK learning materials creatively. Fourth, have not developed a profession by performing reflective actions. Fifth, less self-development by using information and communication technology. (2) Supporting and inhibiting factors for PAK teachers at SMP Kristen Lemoh. Supporting factors for teachers in teaching PAK are complete PAK package books and wifi services. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factor is that teachers who teach PAK at Lemoh Christian Junior High School do not have academic qualifications as PAK teachers, and are not required to participate in MGMP activities carried out in sub-districts and even in districts. (3) Efforts to improve the professional competence of PAK teachers at SMP Kristen Lemoh, namely: first, the principal continues to supervise the way teachers teach in class. Second, provide additional activities that vary outside administrative activities in the form of activities about classroom management, good and modern teaching methods, the application of creative learning media etc. Third, applying the Model Action Research model that can be an alternative to help teachers develop their professionalism and teachers can increase reading literature books, and looking for information on the internet about PAK subjects.
